Transformation at Forss
A major business and energy park has been created at Forss.
- The site was originally refurbished with EU ERDF monies in 2004 to support decommissioning at Dounreay by the then Department for Trade and Industry.
- A six turbine wind farm was developed in two phases from 2004 to 2008 and it is one of the most productive wind sites in the UK.
- At the end of 2015 Forss Energy Park combined with Forss Business & Technology Park to create a 73Ha site for development opening up land and storage opportunites.
- Anchor tenants: Aon Hewitt/Equiniti, Balfour Beatty, Scottish & Southern Hydro Electric, GD Energy Services, Renewable Energy Systems, Enercon, Dounreay Site Restoration Limited, Mirion/Canberra UK, EE/Arqiva and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA).
